Have you heard about this new “micro-scholarship” website? Students enter achievements, grades and other activities into their accounts beginning as early as 9th grade, and can get an instant snapshot as to how much money they could receive in scholarship dollars from a wide variety of colleges. More colleges are joining the site daily and it is a fun, simple way for students to visualize what their activities can do for them as they apply to colleges. The more students enter through their high school years, the more they can “earn” from a particular college. Additionally, local volunteer opportunities are being added to the site for students looking for ways to increase their community service options. Sophomores, juniors and seniors are being introduced to Raise.me in Seminar…be sure ask to your students if they’ve signed up yet!
